Matilde Almandoz
Matilde holds a graduate degree in Spanish Language and Literature and has studied in the European Union. She was ushered into the world of communication by two great events: the Organization of the Tour de France Starting Ceremony and the San Sebastian Film Festival. She embarked on this venture in 1993, creating Presencia Internacional. As founder and director of the project, she has since developed her pursuits along two paths, both with a clear international outlook: the PCO line, as organizer of meetings, seminars and conferences, and the public relations events line.
Matilde has worked indefatigably to give a boost to the world of associations and generate synergies that could benefit all stakeholders in a highly fragmented business landscape. She was President of the Madrid PCO organization and currently presides over the Spanish Federation of PCOs, whose main objective is to enhance the value and visibility of professionals of the sector. As Chairwoman of the MICE Forum, Matilde promotes the actions needed to achieve recognition for the Forum, promoting the required knowledge and communication transfer activities which calls for the participation of all the players in the tourism sector to contribute to promoting the
richness and historical significance of all kinds of destinations. She also actively participates in the ISO TC/228 Committee for the development a World Quality Standard specific to the MICE sector and is a member of the Professionals of Tourism Association, of the Council of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations), and of the Board of Tourism.
